And developing your organisation skills is a key skill that you will benefit from, not just through university, but throughout life in general. As a result, we have produced the following organisation tips for any new student.
Important organisation tips for new students
So how exactly can you make sure you are organised for your first year? Well, here are some top tips:
- Make your budget a priority- if you are concerned about managing your money, organise your budget effectively. Divide your money into daily or weekly amounts, depending on what you need, and try to stick to this. Make sure you always pay your rent and any bills first, before deciding how much to spend on a night out with your friends. Here at Let Pads, all bills are included, just to make life a little bit easier for you! There are even some apps out there that will help you manage your finances.
- Time-management- most of the organisation issues that students face comes from the lack of time. Student life is busy and hectic. Especially if you are planning to balance studying with working. Once you know your academic timetable for the year, spend some time creating a schedule dividing your time at work, time at university, time for studying and time for socializing. Stick to this schedule and you’ll find you can fit more in a day than you expected.
- Manage your studies- in addition, you might be worried about all the studying you’ll need to fit in. And managing your study time sensibly, will help you get the most out of your university experience, and ultimately get the degree you need for your future career.
